The Brotherhood Of Work Weekend Overeager Workers (BOW WOW) convened
its semi-annual meeting on Friday, July 25. Members present were
Kelly Marold, Mike & Carla Guenette, Carol Barrette, and Ian
Dowell. Reports were presented on "How To Get Lots of Susan
B. Anthony Dollars at a New Hampshire Rest Area" (Kelly)
and "Menage a Trois in a Pickup Truck Cab: Utilizing the
Dual Stick Shift" (Ian, Carol & Kelly).
The Brotherhood reconvened shortly after sunrise (due to Steve
Kondi's dog interminably "singing" the sacred BOW WOW
chant) for a hearty breakfast of toasted bagels and pecan rolls
with funny grill-marks on them. Research was then conducted on
the following topics: "How To Level Dangerous Cabin Stairs
and Do It Right This Time" (Mike & Carla); "Cabin
Cleaning and Running Away From Bats" (Carla); "Red Ostrosky
- Force of Nature or Just Really Destructive and How to Clean
up the Mess He Leaves" (Carol & Kelly); "Oh, And
This Would Make Pretty Good Firewood, Too" (Kelly & Carol);
"Clever Gadgets: The New, Improved Hand Washer" (Ian);
"Supply Run II: The Sequel" (Ian); "I Couldn't
Find Any Patio Stones So I'll Use Big Rocks Instead" (Ian);
"Wood Bin: Useful or Just Ugly?" (Ian); "How Not
to Be Seen" (Kirk) and "Levelling the Road: How To
Avoid Lawsuits for Transmission Damage" (Gavin - who was
caught in traffic and arrived late).
A dinner including fajita/barbecued chicken and the now traditional
Guenette Mega-Salad sated the appetites of the tired Brothers.
Mike, Carla, Carol and Ian stayed up late to work on their Travesty
extravaganza.
Everyone reconvened Sunday morning for a hearty breakfast of bacon
(cooked several different ways), Muriel's doughnuts (imported
from Lebanon), and French toast. Breakfast was followed by crayfishing
using the leftover bacon.
Mike, Carla and Kelly headed home soon after while supplementary
presentations were made: "Latrine Pit III: Is It Necessary"
(Gavin); "Latrine Path II: No Way Will I Dig Another Latrine"
(Carol); "Deluxe Commode Shelter II" (Ian & Gavin);
"Restocking the Wood Supply" (Ian, Gavin & Carol);
"Mowing a Two Acre Lawn with a Weed Whacker -- NOT!"
(Ian)"; "Snake Spotting" (Carol & Gavin);
"Re-reseeding: Deja Vu" (Carol).
The meeting was concluded with a refreshing swim in the pond.
Addendum: The following weekend the field was properly mowed
by Chris & Wil Dowell.
